Lafayette, Louisiana

Our client is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to lead the full HR function for an operational workforce of approximately 200 employees across two sites, one based locally and one in Texas. This is a standalone HR role supporting a fast-paced business unit within a larger organisation, offering the opportunity to make a real impact at site level while partnering closely with leaders across the business. There will be occasional travel, around 4 times per year, to the Texas site.

This role would suit someone who is confident working independently, comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, and able to build credibility with operational stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-cycle HR support across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, investigations, and offboarding
  • Act as a trusted HR partner to frontline leaders, supervisors, and operational stakeholders across the assigned sites
  • Manage complex employee relations matters with sound judgement, professionalism, and discretion
  • Conduct investigations and maintain clear, accurate documentation in line with company policy and employment legislation
  • Support leaders with coaching, performance conversations, and day-to-day people matters
  • Partner on training, compliance, and broader HR initiatives as required
  • Maintain HR records, systems, and reporting to support business needs
  • Operate as the key HR contact for the business unit, balancing strategic support with hands-on execution

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within operational environments such as construction, manufacturing, logistics, or similar
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, investigations, performance management, and HR compliance
  • Experience supporting site-based or field-based populations
  • Able to work independently and confidently influence stakeholders at different levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement, and the resilience to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally as required
