Maintenance Technician

Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) and its satellite health centers are the leading providers of primary health care services in the communities we serve, including individuals who are both insured and uninsured. ICCHC provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive health care services, including medical care.

ICCHC is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for its Lafayette Parish and St. Martinville, LA locations. The Maintenance Technician will cover all three locations.

This position will perform timely repairs and maintenance of facility, grounds and equipment. Checks, records and/or reports conditions and functioning of utilities.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read and follow instructions.
• Position requires six months of technical training in facility maintenance or two years experience in skilled trades, i.e., carpentry, plumbing, electronics, heating/cooling. Skills, trade or aptitude for mechanics.
• Basic knowledge of facility maintenance

Physical Demands:

• Work requires prolonged walking (approx. 2 hrs/day), standing (approx. 5 hrs/day), and sitting (approx. 1 hr/day).
• Frequently lifts and positions bulky packages and equipment.
• Lifting, 15-75 lbs.
• Carrying, 25 lbs.
• Pushing, 200 lbs.
• Pulling, 40-50 lbs.
• Climbing
• Stooping
• Balancing
• Kneeling
• Eyesight (Near and far acuity, depth perception, color vision, field of vision)
• Hearing (Ordinary conversation and other sounds)

Environmental Condition:

• May be exposed to outside environment, noise, fumes, radiation, dust, mist, gases, and poor ventilation. Proper PPE provided.
• Contact with communicable disease, PPE provided to employee
• Unpleasant odors
• Work in environment with exposure to infectious agents, flammable materials, poisons, Carcinogens, radioactivity and electrical hazards.
