In the integrity, governance & sustainability board division of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, the compliance department is functionally aligned and supports various areas along the value chain - from development, purchasing, production to sales.
The social compliance department continuously develops the company's human rights approach, maintains the exchange and communication with internal and external stakeholders, and is particularly responsible for the permanent development and implementation of the group's own human rights respect system. In addition, the portfolio of our department also includes the role of the legal contact for the human rights field. We answer group-wide legal questions on human rights-related compliance and due diligence as well as on other issues from the perspective of human rights.
As an intern with a focus on human rights, social compliance, and AI in the social compliance team, you will have the following exciting tasks:
- Support the team of the social compliance department in the integrity, governance & sustainability board division of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, which coordinates central and group-wide activities and initiatives on the topics of human rights and social compliance
- An important part of your internship will be project-based / experimental work on the topic complex "human rights and AI"
- You conduct research activities in the areas of human rights, social compliance, and ESG in the context of artificial intelligence and take into account, for example, current legal, political, and social developments in relation to human rights, existing risk analyses, existing human rights governance or supply chain questions related to human rights
You will support the social compliance team in the following activities:
- Advisory and support in the further development of the Mercedes-Benz human rights approach
- Analysis of national, European, and international developments in relation to human rights and, if necessary, derivation of concrete action recommendations for the Mercedes-Benz human rights approach
- Support in the organization and content preparation of events (e.g. Mercedes-Benz Sustainability Dialogues, including Human Rights Working Group)
- Support in the planning, preparation, and production of text contributions for Mercedes-Benz sustainability communication
- Support of the exchange and communication with Mercedes-Benz stakeholders

Qualifications
We wish for the following qualifications:
- Study course in the field of human rights / international law, law, economics, political science or other fields with relevant focus / specialization on the topic of human rights or business and human rights
- Secure German and English language skills
- Secure handling of MS Office
- Experiences and intuition in dealing with applications of artificial intelligence and dealing with their results
- Personal competencies:
- Independent, responsible, and agile working style
- Self-initiative, reliability, and flexibility
- Friendly appearance and team capability
- Intercultural competence
- Understanding of economic and technical connections
